I ran creative arts sessions for 8 weeks at Mill View care home that aided residents’ wellbeing and provided meaningful activities for them to explore. The residents were ages 60-90 years of age and were living with a neurological condition. My aim throughout the project was to provide meaningful activities that engaged and inspired residents to explore creative arts tools to foster their own well-being needs. My sessions were focused on what the residents enjoyed doing and I followed a participant centred approach, focusing on meeting their needs and interests. I ran both one to one sessions and group sessions. We explored a range of craft techniques and painting together while listening to the residents’ choice of music. To celebrated the end of the project I created a scrap book full of all the memories and art we made in the sessions. I then donated this book to the residents within the care home for themselves and visitors to look back on the activities we did.
